ROMAN EMPIRE E L A G A B A L U S 16 May 218 - 11 March 222 A. RARE LAST ISSUE This coin type was issued in the final emission of coinage under Elagabalus, minted from Jan-Mar 222. During the previous year, a "horn" was added to Elagabalus' portrait, commonly believed to be a mark indicating divine status. During this last issue final emission, though, the "horn" disappeared from the coinage. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: P M TR P V COS IIII P P, Elagabalus standing left, sacrificing out of patera over lighted altar and holding club; star to left. RIC 52; Thirion 225; RSC 213a.

NGC Certified Choice AU (Choice about Uncirculated) 5/5 - 2/5. Struck 249-250 AD, Antioch Mint. Obverse: IMP G M Q TRAIANVS DECIVS AVG, radiate, cuirassed bust of Trajan Decius right, seen from behind. Reverse: VERITAS AVG Uberitas standing left, holding purse in right hand and cornucopia in left.
