Choice Almost Uncirculated Emperor Severus Alexander Roman Empire silver. Struck at Rome & issued between 228 to 231 CE, RIC 193, RSC 51, 19mm, 3.69g (heavy flan). Certified by NGC to Ch AU. Lightly toned with lustrous fields. Obverse: IMP SEV ALEXAND AVG, laureate, head of emperor facing right. Reverse: FIDES MILITVM, Fides seated left holding two legionary standards. Fides was the goddess of trust, good faith and honesty. The use of Fides here is clearly a reference to the Emperor's trust with his Legions.
